The casket had already been shipped to be buried in Scottish cemetery where his father's family lay. His mother's remains had been shipped there as well. Ash hadn't had the heart to follow them there, though, so with Irene's help she arranged a memorial service to honour Tristan's memory.

The attendance list was short-

*Ashton
*Jeremy
*Eoin, his father
*Irene
*Greg
*Gen and Benvolio
*Carlson
*Goodall
*Mycroft
*John

But these, for the most part, where those who loved him most. A few of course didn't know him well but went in support of Ashton.

Thoughinstead of a service, it was rather an open house at Ashton and Jeremy's where people could mill around and eat and come and go as they pleased. Ash was sitting on a stool in the kitchen, trying her best to smile away the pain she was feeling. She took a sip of wine as someone approached her to speak.

Irene stared at the door, her fists clenched, her mouth set in a thin line.
She'd never been to a funeral or anything even slightly similar. Hell, she was fairly sure she'd never known anyone that had died before. In some ways, she was so immature it was almost a joke.
Perhaps... I should just go... she thought. I'm sure to ruin it, someway or another. Be insensitive or something...
And here she was thinking she was braver than most people. But when it came right down to it, she was the most cowardly person in the world...
She scrunched up her eyes and pressed a hand to her forehead, frustration building up inside her.
This is ridiculous... Just knock!
But I...
Knock!
And she did, without even realising that she had.
